Fractured is the story of James McBride, an independent profiler who is asked by Cassandra Taylor, a homicide detective, to join an investigative team looking into a series of murders where the victims die unique and horrific deaths.
With two of the FBI's best profilers on the case as well James begins to uncover many clues and suspects, some which appear to be supernatural in nature. Eventually these clues begin to point at certain members of the team.
James soon becomes a suspect in the eyes of the agents and Cassandra forms her own assumptions. Could this all be a game? A twisted game in which innocent people lose their lives to achieve some sick goal?
Only in the dramatic final scene is the killer revealed. And it is no one ever suspected.
